Giving that doesn’t cost a lot but has Great return

I recently received this from Rhonda Byrne who sends out “The Secret Daily Scrolls”

Giving opens up the door to receiving. You have so many opportunities to give every day.

Give kind words. Give a smile. Give appreciation and love. Give compliments. You can give courtesy to other motorists while you are driving. You can give a smile to the car parking attendant. You can give a warm greeting to the newspaper stand person or the person who makes your coffee. You can give by allowing a stranger to go ahead of you into an elevator, and you can give by asking which floor they are going to and pressing the button for them. If someone drops something you can give a helping hand and pick it up for them. You can give warm embraces to those you love. And you can give appreciation and encouragement to everyone.

There are so many opportunities for you to give and thereby open the door to receiving.

What do you think about these ideas?  Simple giving that can change our immediate world and future world. We can grow with each other as people to improve how we interact.

Giving doesn’t have to cost a lot but the value it carries can be immeasurable and can change our world. Try it you might like it.  Mikey did.

Personal Technology

I heard a great sermon this weekend at church.  Our pastor, Dr. Charley Reeb, talked about how technology has taken the personal out of relationships.

As a guy that works in IT and  speaks this hit close to home. How many times have we sent an e-mail to co-workers, friend and texted family when we could have called? Personally I think it is easier to talk than it is to text on those “large” keyboards on phones. Of course the kids can whip out a 12 page text within a minute and look at you and say “What?”

Have you seen kids text each other while sitting next to each other or int he same room? Our pastor related this idea to the idea that preachers would eventually not be needed. Just as speakers seem to be needed less. I have to disagree. As a speaker about personal growth and technology I can look at this perspective from both sides.

A speaker brings energy, enthusiasm and passion to an idea and can relate that to others humans. Can a text or e-mail do that? Yes the technology is convenient but that is where it stops. Many times a text or email that was mis-typed can cause some energy or even anger because of mis-interpretation. then the parties spend an hour trying to correct the mishap with more emails and texts. As a speaker I can gauge the audience’s reaction immediately and apologize or re-direct my message base on body language or reaction. I can show emotion for specific topics that relate to an audience and give an impact to the message. This is called relationship or connection. Emails and texting do not offer this. they are black and white no matter how many smiley faces 🙂 you put in the text.

Let’s take this new year as an opportunity to enjoy “Talking, calling or meeting with others to get a feeling of their passion and what is needed in their life, organization or company. Try calling someone today and talking with them, ask “how are You Doing” and LISTEN.

Be the difference the world wants to get back to and enjoy other people in this world. You are not the only person in this world and neither am I.  If you want to talk, call me, my number is on my web site.

The Power of Learning

I was recently reading a good article about Learning from Rhonda Byrne, the author of  The Secret. This is a great review of the value of the Power of Learning and what it can do for your growth in life.

Your life is a learning process – you can only become wiser from learning. Sometimes you might have to attract making a painful mistake to learn something important, but after the mistake you have far greater wisdom. Wisdom cannot be bought with money – it can only be acquired through living life. With wisdom comes strength, courage, knowing, and an ever-increasing peace.

Learning allows us to grow and as we grow our value as people increases. THis contributes to our teams, work place, society and world. Nothing will be perfect and the road will not be smooth. However, the more we can learn from the journey, the better off we will be.

Enjoy Life.

Sucess – Feel how it Feels

I was recently reading a great book of inspirational stories “The Art and Science of Success“.

In this book, one of the inspirational stories was written by Melanie Greenough and she was describing success and how it feels. I want to share this with you.

“Really take the time to feel how it feels to have the thing or that relationship. Be there- feel the feelings of it already being accomplished. Feel your pride swell, your happiness expand, your joy explode, and stay in the mindset of it being yours already. When you feel the thing as if it was already done, you are creating feelings of gratitude, and when you are grateful, you are setting yourself up for more great things to come your way. then act as though your succes is certain.”

Some awesome words of wisdom especially with a new year starting. We are the ones that decide our destiny, not someone else or something else. Who’s life is it anyway? It is yours or mine and we can create the success and destiny we want in our lives by taking action, thinking positively and moving forward towards a goal we desire.

I can help you or a group, company or University you are part of to Take Action with Positive results. Please review my website for more information or contact me at info@bobbrumm.com
