Tampa ranked in the top 3 USA cities to launch and grow a business.

Tampa was announced as one of the top places in the USA to start and grow a business. Forbes Magazine looked at seven key criteria before announcing their top ten cities for entrepreneurs and start-ups. Tampa beat Atlanta, Seattle and Austin based on criteria such as percentage of population with University Degrees, cost of living, average income, loan activity and business buzz.

New York, Chicago and Silicone Valley didn’t even make the top ten because of their high cost of living and the “quick and the dead” mentality towards new businesses.

This week the Entrepreneur Growth Accelerator that originated in London, is in Tampa with a goal to find 50 businesses that are suitable for accelerated growth. Backed by Shark Tank celebrity investor Kevin Harrington, the growth program gives small businesses access to mentoring, high-level networking and resources.

“Tampa is a perfect place to launch this program. New York and Silicone Valley have created a gold-rush mentality and a lot of genuine businesses avoid the noise by staying out of these hot spots. We’re hoping to spot some real talent right here on my doorstep.” Says Harrington who’s a Tampa Bay resident.

Local businesses owners and entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend an event featuring several high-profile entrepreneurs who are talking about growth strategies relevant to the times we’re in. For more information visit http://keypersonofinfluence.com/usa/go.php?p=a445&w=bkpi

Awesome sauce

Perhaps you have heard this phrase in a credit card commercial or apple sauce commercial. Today I would like to give a different perspective on this phrase.

To me, awesome sauce means something I add to my brain that will help others and myself. Many times that is encouragement, inspirational and motivational. So with that idea the awesome sauce I want to give you are a few quotes that I felt would encourage others in a Positive way.

Who units us is greater that what divides us.  – Unknown

What is easy to do, is easy not to do. – Jim Rohn

Do unto others as you would have  done unto you. – Mathew 7:12

Execution is having a game plan and working it. Execution is taking what is there and not trying to create something that isn’t.  – Rory Vaden

These type of statements make you stop and think about what you are doing, what direction you are going and what effort you are putting into whatever you want or are doing. I love to encourage others and give guidance and these quotes help do that.

F.E.A.R. – What is it good for?

To take the words from the Edwin Starr song “WAR, what is it good for absolutely nothing..” I ask the same thing about F.E.A.R, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

F.E.A.R. is False Expectations Appearing Real and what are these good for? To limit us, to keep us captive in our own thought up results? We have fears about outcomes of conversations, calls discussions situations etc. when we cannot predict our next thought most of the time. Why do we do this to ourselves? Again, What is this good for, absolutely nothing.

When we were a hunting society, fear helped to keep us safe at times. Now it limits our abilities most of the time. If we are afraid of what a girl will say when we ask her on a date, we don’t get to experience what could be a great time out of the house with an enjoyable person. If we fear asking for a raise, we limit telling our supervisor about our abilities and how they help the organization. perhaps they haven’t connected your abilities to the accomplished tasks.  If we fear conversations with the person we married, that leads to a very cold household and assumed situations etc.

After seeing the Secret Life of Walter Mitty, I believe we need to overcome the fears we have built up in our minds, to experience life in ways we haven’t even seen blife efore. God has a greater plan for us and we don’t need to be afraid of what life can give us in experiences and enjoyment. We just need to ride the ride and enjoy life, not the fears of life.

An Awesome Message to be Happy

I just received this in an e-mail from a friend and I had to share the message. It is a message of Happiness.

This is AWESOME … something we should all remember.

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed
each morning by eight o’clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly,
even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.

His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he
smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his

I love it,’ he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having
just been presented with a new puppy.

Mr. Jones, you haven’t seen the room; just wait..’
‘That doesn’t have anything to do with it,’ he replied.

Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.

Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is  arranged
.. it’s how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.

    ‘It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice;

I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the
parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful  for
the ones that do.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I’ll focus on the new
day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away.. Just for this time in my
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you’ve put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account
of memories!

Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank.
    I am still depositing.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

     1. Free your heart from hatred.
    2. Free your mind from worries.
    3. Live simply.
    4. Give more.
    5. Expect less.

Lets pass this message onto others so they can be happy to. We can be audacious by being happy..

How Can I Help you to be Audacious?

Inspire Audacity

I heard this idea from an audio I was listening to from Steve Farber the other day and really enjoyed the idea. He talked about “inspiring audacity”.

The idea of audacity comes with a derogatory meaning with words like, boldness, arrogant disregard for personal safety, daring.

However, as described in the audio I was listening to, what if we looked at this idea differently? We can look at the idea of Inspiring Audacity with a Positive Perspective and we started to be bold in making a difference in our world. What if we were bold as started to help more people who needed help. What if we were bold and disregarded our personal safety and took some hamburgers to the homeless shelter. Which is very rewarding by the way.  What if we inspired audacity in our work environments to talk to co-workers decently and encourage them to improve work habits or not complain about situations but help to improve situations. It may not take huge steps but taking the step is critical.

Audacity can have a good meaning if we want to change our world for the better. Change can be hard and looked at as being audacious. Image if Thomas Edison would not have been so “audacious”.

Greatness within us all

I had a thought from a sermon I heard today and I needed to share this with you.

With 2014 here, we need to realize that we are all created for Greatness. We are all on this earth for a purpose that was defined for us long before we were even thought about. The question is will this year be the year we hear this idea? Will this year be the year we ACT upon this idea? Will this year be the year we listen this idea and change what we do, what we go after and what we say?

Since we are created for a great purpose, we need to stop living in the rear-view mirror. We need to stop beating ourselves up about our past mistakes and errors. We need to stop living our past glories. The items in the rear-view mirror are in the past and we cannot change what happened, what we did or what we said. We can however grasp the blank canvas of a new day and step into the NOW of a new day. We can step into our greatness one minute, one hour, one day at a time. By then end of the year, we will have 365 awesome days of greatness.

Let’s take the opportunity in front of us of each day in this new year to live the greatness that has been defined within us, for us and make a difference in our world for greatness.

  Here is to your GREATNESS.
