You can’t control stupidity

Have you had days that people just seemed to be extra stupid? Did you let it frustrate/annoy you?  I know I have.

So many times situations occur that involve people who may be “knowledge challenges”. When your driving in the left lane and the car in front of you is going 45 on the highway. Or the person in the far right lane decides that they need to turn left a the intersection just 20 feet away, in front of you. We could all go on about situations we have witnessed or been a part of with stupid individuals. Some networks have even made shows about stupid things, stupid people do.

What we all need to realize is that we cannot control other people’s stupidity. We can only control our own. The fact is that we have the ability to control our decisions or what we do, say and how we respond to life events. We cannot control the drivers actions in front of us no matter how much you yell, honk or express they are # 1 with a specific finger.  Those type of decisions can have heavy consequences.

If we Breath, and respond, instead of react we may realize the lane next to us is open and we can move over, we could test our brakes really hard and Thank God they work or some other type of response.

With many things in life, we can “take the horse to the water, but we cannot make them drink.” We can possibly encourage others to try an alternative to their actions just as we can have alternatives to our actions. Let’s consider Positive alternatives to our actions so we don’t act stupid as we can only control ourselves.

How Can I Help You?
